The cures suspected pedophile in Granada acted as a sect

The judicially investigated cures in Granada for paedophilia (allegedly sexually abused for years of at least a minor, even though we haven't ruled out new cases) acting in a manner similar to a cult. And they had their own leader: in particular, one of the three priests to whom the archdiocese suspended functions after the direct intervention of the Pope on the subject, according to sources in the investigation. The focus is on a popular parish situated in the outskirts of the neighborhood in Granada Zaidín. In it he exercised his ministry, the leader of this group and it was also the place where these priests, very friendly with each other, captured young as altar servers and assistants and tried to imbue them a religious vocation.

The Religion portal Digital reported yesterday that this clan, composed of cures fundamentalists and conservatives, is known in Granada as The Romanones, in allusion to the name of the alleged leader. If the parish was the place to attract young people, the sexual acts are usually consumaban in luxury flats and a cottage that the clan owns in Granada and in two municipalities in the province: a duplex in the coastal town of Salobreña and a chalet in the town of Pinos Genil, in the road that connects the capital with Sierra Nevada.

The complaint from one of these young people before the Pope, and then before the Public Prosecutor's Office in the Supreme Court of Justice of Andalusia, is one that has enabled the judicial inquiry which develops the Magistrate Court 4 of Granada, that keeps the proceedings secret. The young man, who today is 24 years old and is a professor, retains its religious convictions. According to sources in the investigation, he began to suffer from sexual assault when he was 13 years old, which lasted until the 17.

The complainant (the proceedings are secret and only has transcended its complaint, although it cannot be ruled out that there are more) decided to tell their suffering after the clear statement of the Vatican, done in April this year, in the sense that he had zero tolerance against paedophilia. Initially, recounted their ailments to charges of the Archdiocese of Granada and, seeing that nothing was done, it chose to write to the Pope. I did not expect is that Francisco grabs him in person to ask for his forgiveness. The Pope has defined what happened as a "very serious sin and a serious offense" and, in addition, it announced that it had already people working to depurasen responsibilities. Referred to the Archdiocese of Granada, which had placed to open an investigation. This was limited to move their offices to only 3 of the 10 priests involved. Rome considered insufficient measures, and a few weeks later, the Pope returned to telephone the complainant to express his regret for the actions of those responsible for the archdiocese. In this second call reported yesterday the cited religious portal. The Vatican has called to chapter on Sunday in Rome to the archbishop of Granada, Francisco Javier Martínez, who attended yesterday in Madrid to a meeting of the Bishops' Conference in which he was the center of all eyes. Among the major players involved, there is a charge of the diocese related to legal affairs, according to the sources mentioned.
