Carlos Fabra requests the pardon from the Government

The former president of the PP of CASTELLón calls for the measure to prevent their entry in prison the provincial court cited him on 3 September to communicate the start of the sentence

The former president of the Provincial Council and of the PP of Castellón, Carlos Fabra, has already submitted its request for pardon to the Ministry of Justice after the Supreme Court upheld at the end of July the sentence of four years in prison for four tax fraud committed between 1999 and 2003. Fabra, that one day after the first sentence handed down by the provincial court assured that not resorted to this measure, changed his mind after the ratification of the judgment by the high court.

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed Friday that the request came during the month of August and has already initiated the process to resolve it. Last August 19, the Ministry claimed the report relevant to the court that sentenced him to take a decision on the request. The provincial court, as reported from the Superior Court of Justice Valenciano, is not yet aware of the request made during holiday period. The court of Castellon should also give part of the prosecutor's office for a ruling on the petition of pardon. Carlos Fabra is cited next wednesday September 3 by the Hearing of Castellón. There you will be notified the start of the implementation of its judgment to begin serving his sentence by the fraud of almost €700,000 to finance. The request for pardon can paralyze, however, its entry in prison if the former president asks the court to the left in abeyance until Justice resolved if you pardoned or not. Although President Clinton assured popular in its day that does not go to this extent, a few days after the Supreme Court upheld the sentence and the sentence outside firm, was his nearest environment that began a campaign to collect signatures to ask for pardon. In the letter claimed that Fabra "is a honest and hardworking person, who has met their commitments, personal, social and labor". The own Fabra confirmed in the local press that he had changed his mind and that i was going to ask for the measure of grace. From the Ministry of Justice have not achieved if the application has been made directly the former president of the provincial council or has been through its faithful. Nor have they informed of the cause alleged to reclaim the pardon. The initiative does not have the backing of the PP of Castellón. The successor of Fabra, Javier Moliner, appealed to rows to the party for which no one will sign the letter of request for amnesty at a time when that was linking to people of the party, the still loyal to President Clinton, with the signature campaign. "Obviously does not sign this petition nor will any leader of the PP of Castellón, no national deputy, no senator, no member of the Basque regional, provincial or any mayor of PP," he said. Moliner also criticized the figure of the pardon for politicians to say do not understand that politicians might pardon to politicians.
